I just received 5 new Doors from a house built in the 1920's from Magna, Utah (thanks to my sister in law). I will be posting pictures of the doors in their current state and will be posting pictures stage by stage on my blog through out the process. I have 2 five panel doors. One will be a head board (queen), the other a desk. I have a new 4 panel door. I am most excited about due to the rarity of the door style. I will be converting it into a coffee table, along with a smaller single panel door that is perfect for a full length mirror for a little girls room. Stay tuned and posted as they come alive. Only one of these pieces has been spoken for, so if you would like a specific paint color or treatment, please let me know. Thanks for visiting.

My Wife Amber opened a Women's Fashion Boutique and wanted a desk as unique as her store. I created this desk out of 4 antique doors. 1 five panel door and 3 one panel doors. It was by far the most thought provoking and rewarding project. All screws, braces, anchors, etc are out of sight. There were no nail or screw holes anywhere on the outter shell.

The doors came from an extensive apartment remodel in the vintage Avenues of Salt Lake City, Utah. The Avenues is the first section of Salt Lake City to deviate from the original ten acre block grid pattern. Settled in the 1850's, Redesigned in the 1860's, but not becoming "The Avenues" as we know it today until 1907.

My First Creation

So this was my first creation. My wife wanted a cute vintage bed for our daughters, but couldn't find what she wanted. She discribed what she wanted, but also wanted to incorporate an old 5 panel door we had in the decoration of the room. Put the two together and you have a beautiful queen sized bed. The door came from a home in Lehi, Utah (settled in 1850 by Mormon Settlers). The home was built in the late 1800's, early 1900's and was going through an extensive remodel. It has a light yellow paint with a brown glazing.
